“And he( Jesus) looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had”.
Jesus knew that widow’s exact net worth, just like he knows yours, but He was impressed with her heart, not her bank account.
Regarding money and possessions he once said “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses”.
The Master made a thief (Judas) his treasurer.. Why? Because his interest is in people, not money or possessions. Not things. He once said, ” seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.
