Hurricane Michael was fast approaching the Florida panhandle on Wednesday Oct. 15, when Stephanie and Will Cribbs evacuated. Their home is in Mexico Beach, and Michael was heading straight toward their town.
Before they left, the Cribbs said a short prayer asking God to protect their family and their home. They made the trek to a nearby warehouse, but soon after, the warehouse door flew open and the family scrambled to an upstairs office inside the warehouse.
“We (watched) as the water kept rising and rising and it kept getting closer to us,” Mrs. Cribbs recalled. “My son just kept screaming, ‘We are going to die!’ “I just said to him, ‘We are not going to die. In the name of Jesus, we are not going to die.'”
Suddenly the water began to subside and four hours later, the family returned to their neighborhood, to find it destroyed. Except for their home.
“It was like God put a bubble over our house,” Cribbs said. “It was absolutely amazing….everybody (in the neighborhood) has a tree in their house or they are missing a wall or their house is just gone. Here our house is standing.”

Jesus said, “…whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it”
He also said, “…I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you.”
Charles Spurgeon said, “If you believe in prayer at all, expect God to hear you”.
John tells us in 1 John 5, “…this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him”.
