Constantin Reliu learned in January that he was dead.
After more than 20 years of working as a cook in Turkey, the 63-year-old returned home to Romania to discover that his wife had had him officially registered as dead.
He has since been living a legalistic nightmare of trying to prove to authorities that he is, in fact, alive. He faced a major setback recently when a court in the northeastern city of Vaslui refused to overturn his death certificate because his request was filed “too late.”
The decision, the court said, is final.
When Jesus rose from the dead, a similar development occurred. Those who conspired to have him murdered, paid off the soldiers who were guarding his tomb.
“They gave large money unto the soldiers, saying, ‘Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you’. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day”.
But the historical record irrefutably shows that not only did Jesus rise from the dead but also that He is still alive today. Jesus is alive! No other religious teacher rose from the dead. Jesus did. No one else claimed to be God and rose from the dead to prove it. Jesus did. Nobody else raised the dead, healed all that came to Him, predicted his death and resurrection and then rose from the dead. Jesus did!
The Apostle Paul writes, “(Jesus) was delivered for our offenses (crucified for payment of our sins), and was raised again for our justification(so we might walk in newness of life,)
In Hebrews we read “Therefore he (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them”.
And no court on earth can prove otherwise.
