Store employees at a Walmart store in Zion, Illinois, noticed a man putting electronics into a shopping cart and then leaving without paying for them. When confronted by store employees, he fled without the merchandise. Police later arrested 25-year-old Che Hearn as he was walking down the road.

When asked why he was walking, rather than driving  he said that his car had been repossessed while he had been shoplifting at WalMart. Police  later determined that a repossession company employee had followed Hearn to WalMart and towed the car while Hearn had been inside the store, stealing.

King Solomon wrote, “ The desire of the slothful kills him; for his hands refuse to labour. He covets greedily all the day long: but the righteous give and spare not”

Paul the Apostle told the Colossian Church that “covetousness is idolatry.”  In the Western world we don’t bow down to idols, but when we covet, are we not in effect bowing to the god of greed?

Because we have been given so, so much from our Creator, we want to give, don’t we?

James tells us  that, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.”

Our Father showed us the way when he gave His only son to take our place, to die for our sins, not his, that we might have peace in this life and bliss in eternity.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
